Stern speculates that the media plays a major role on girls wanting to be thin. Teens are put
lead to believes that they are not beautiful unless they are thin. Young girl are eating less and less food to lose the weight to look like someone in the media.

use these magazines to use for self image it can lead them to dieting. Teen magazines use

inc. This book states that eating disorders are not just a girl disease. Eating disorders not
only affect the person with the disease it also affect everyone around them . Anorexia and
Bulimia are considered mental illness eating disorders. Eating disorders can develop from
several causes.
